I’m curious to hear your thoughts about the Bermuda Triangle. Your website has helped me very much, but this was one answer I didn’t find.
The “Triangle,” with vertices at Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico—a massive area, perhaps a million square km—is so large that it would be odd if there were not lots of accidents here. Other heavily trafficked "triangles" of similar size exist, like the Alaska Triangle and the Devil's Deep (off the coast of Japan).
Yet the statistics from insurance companies and oceanographic institutes like NOAA show us that ships don’t sink any more often in the Bermuda Triangle than in other well-traveled parts of the ocean. There are more accidents here, yet the rate of incidents is not disproportionately higher than on other busy waterways. Stories of lost ships and planes are sensationalized—or downright inaccurate.
I asked my friend AI for any wisdom. This is what he (she?) said:
- Scripture emphasizes faith and trust in God during times of uncertainty or danger.
- Scriptures often highlight God's control over nature and the seas (e.g., Psalm 107:29).
- The concept of mystery and the unknown is acknowledged, but not linked to specific locations.
- The Bible encourages believers to seek wisdom and understanding in all matters (Proverbs 2:6).
- Ultimately, the focus is on God's sovereignty rather than unexplained events
I thought this was valuable. Helpful?
